Overview
The original Above Eleven Rooftop Bar & Restaurant opened in Bangkok in 2012. Since 2017, there is also a Bali-version available in Jimbaran, and while not quite as high, there are lots of similarities.
Perched on top of the fantastic Mövenpick Resort & Spa, Above Eleven is set up as an urban park, inspired by Central Park in New York. This means a trendy and stylish rooftop garden feel, meeting fantastic views over the Bali greenery, Jimbaran Beach and the Indian Ocean.
While the setting at Above Eleven rooftop is NYC-inspired, the food and drinks menu come with influences from completely different parts of the world: Peru and Japan. Above Eleven is actually the first Peruvian Japanese rooftop bar and restaurant in South East Asia.
The rooftop restaurant serves historical, authentic and fresh cuisine called ‘Nikkei’, which date back more than 120 years to the first wave of Japanese immigration to Peru. You can enjoy the food either as nibbles or mains, and there is also a great selection of more 'familiar' Sushi & Sashimi.
From the large and central rooftop bar you can order creative and well-made mixolgy cocktails with the same Japanese/Peruvian influences as the food. But there is also more tropical options, as well as a large selection of wines.
Not at all only about tasty food and drinks, Above Eleven is also a happening rooftop, with nightly live DJs, salsa nights and other special entertainment line-ups.
Open daily from 4pm, you should visit early for those relaxing sunset cocktails, and then stick around and enjoy the luxurious, yet very realxing atmosphere. Just remeber that the Above Eleven Bali dress code is smart casual, so while dress shorts are ok, leave the singlets and swim wear at home.
