Mountain Club Rooftop Bistro at Cloud 9

Double level rooftop gem with plunge pool and 360° views over Cape Town & Table Mountain.

The rooftop space on top of the lovely Cloud 9 Boutique Hotel & Spa recently got a refurbish, and emerged as the Mountain Club Rooftop Bistro.

Set in the heart of Tamboerskloof, this charming and beautiful rooftop bar does not only have a great location, but also amazing views. Up here you get panoramic 360-degree vistas over pretty much all of Cape Town. This includes spectacular close-ups of Table Mountain and Lion's Head, and sweeping views over the city skyline, all the way towards the Atlantic Ocean.

Covering two levels, Mountain Club offers a stylish yet very laid-back and relaxed setting. The upper level seats about 35 in comfy sofas and bar tables, while the lower floor can accommodate 20 pax. This is also where you find the small but crystal clear rooftop plunge pool.

The pool, just like the rooftop bar, is available to all, hotel guest or not. As a non-guest there is however a minimum spend requirement of R300. And remember to bring your own towel.

Open to all, and also open year round, as the lower deck comes with both a retractable roof and gas heaters to keep everyone warm during winter. There is also a smaller indoor lounge if the weather should turn really sour.

From the rooftop bar you can order a large set of signature cocktails, or go for some of the local wines, beers, and ciders. There is also a pretty filling food menu, including tapas, sushi, and desserts.

The Mountain Club at Cloud 9 is a fantastic spot for both relaxing afternoon drinks and bites (and maybe a refreshing dip), as well as evening cocktails to an amazing sunset with a group of friends.
