Overview
Gourmet restaurant, cafe, bistro and terrace, with a fantastic view over the old town of Graz.
Set in a vintner’s house at Schlossberg, built in 1820, Starcke Haus is a tradtional café, bar and restaurants that comes filled with history.
Named after the court actor Gustav Starcke from Dresden, who lived in the house from the turn of the last century, it is not only the building itself that is special, but also its lush garden and terrace, offering amazing panoramics over Graz.
On the Starcke Haus terrace you can enjoy everything from a coffee in the morning, a lunch in the sunshine, a glass of Styrian wine to the sunset or a candlelight dinner.
The food served is created by Head chef Milivoj Novak, mixing a temptation of international and Austrian cuisine with light Mediterranean dishes. During evenings you can also go on a 'pleasure trip', with a 6-course tasting menu.
Open year-round, but Starcke Haus is extra special during the warmer months. And from May to September you can enjoy the kitchen while also exploring the surroundings, with the 'Picnic at the Schloßberg'. Includes picnic basket, blanket, etc.
