Overview
Long-running and cosy rooftop café, bar and restaurant, perched atop of a 150 year old historical building.
On a small side street, about 5 minutes walk from Taksim Square, you find the roof terrace 5. Kat, which is a small but very cozy café, bar and restaurant. Opened in 1993, and with the breathtaking view over the Bosphorus on display, it is no wonder they are still going strong.
The setting on the terrace is almost as beautiful as the views. Picturesque and stylish at the same time, with intimate dining tables, lots of greenery and also a very nice bar.
With a harmonius vibe and very friendly service, this is the perfect rooftop bar in Istanbul to visit for a romantic dinner or very relaxing cockatils. Or, a weekend breakfast with a view.
The menu up at Kat. 5 is large both in food drinks. Here you can enjoy great Mediterranean and local style food in forms of pasta, sharing plates, meat, seafood and so on.
The drink list comes with well made classic cocktails, beers, wine, champagne, aromatic coffee, raki and a lot more. All this is usually served to some nice background music, but sometimes there is also live world music up on the terrace.
