Overview
Elegant and sophisticated izakaya rooftop bar, elevated above Leicester Square.
On the 8th floor of the superb boutique hotel The Londoner, an urban resort on the south west corner of the iconic Leicester Square, you find an elegant rooftop bar that reimagines the traditions and informal style of Japanese drinking establishments.
Called 8 at The Londoner, the venue offers a sophisticated rooftop experience, set over three different spaces: The Bar, designed in striking accents of chiaroscuro; The Lounge & Terrace, playfully blurring inside and outside with retractable skylights and splintered glimpses of the city’s silhouette, and Shima Garden; a unique and beautiful space where you can step into Japan’s changing seasons.
The 8 at The Londoner menu includes extraordinary and innovative signature cocktails, filled with plenty of Japanese influences, as well as selection of fine Japanese spirits, where the sommelier shortlist of sake is extra impressive.
The drinks are complemented with simple yet elegant modern Japanese dishes, like 'Gyoza Tacos', 'Lobster Tempura', and selections from the Robata grill.
Surrounded by a sophisticated and contemporary atmosphere, here you can settle down in the Japanese-inspired and low seating lounges on the terrace for drinks with panoramic London views, or enjoy an exclusive and cosy evening in the chic, sleek and minimalist Shima Garden. During weekend nights, live DJs also heighten the vibes with dynamic sounds.
