Wolf’s Lair is a fairly secret and undiscovered Melbourne rooftop bar, located in Carlston and quite close to the University of Melbourne. Set on top of the Jimmy Watson’s Restaurant and Wine Bar, the full name of the place is Wolf’s Lair & Treetops, which might tell you that it is both an inside bar and a rooftop garden.

The small and cosy indoor 'den' comes with curios from across Europe, while the rooftop terrace is more clean, open and green. Decorated with wooden bench like seating and tables it is not fancy and does not offer any magical views, but is instead a very relaxed and cool rooftop garden.

The rooftop bar offers a good selection of wine, beer and ciders along with a few classic cocktails and some apertifs. There is also a food menu with pizzas and sharing plates.

All in all Wolf’s Lair is maybe not a rooftop bar to go out of your way to get to, but if you are in the area it is a great spot for some open-air drinks in a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
