Overview
Lush and cosy rooftop garden, serving a famous brunch.
The roof terrace at Gallow Green NYC, located above the McKaittrick Hotel, is lush in an overgrown way and cozy decorated with lots of plants and wooden benches and tables. Probably as close to nature as you will get in the middle of New York, at least on a rooftop. Between all the greenery there is also a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline.
The Gallow Green rooftop bar serves both dinner and cocktails in a charming, lively and vibrant atmosphere. There are some standing tables at the edge of the terrace, and a mix of "real" dining tables and picnic benches, so if you are lucky/unlucky (depending on preference) you might get seated with some new friends.
The menu consists of a good mix of food, from pizza and salads to swordfish and steak skewer. As for drinks there are specialty cocktails, like the 'Honey Pot' made of gin, cucumber, honeydew melon, honey and soda, along with draft beers and all kinds of wine.
Most famous is however the Gallow Green rooftop brunch, served every weekend during the warmer season between 10am-4pm. For $50 you can enjoy a great buffet brunch with live entertainment (get your brunch-tickets here.
All in all, a great rooftop bar NYC to visit for a sunny brunch, a charming and romantic dinner or relaxing cocktails with friends. Popular place, so reservations are recommended, especially for the weekend brunch.
Note: In winter months, Gallow Green usually transforms into The Hideout, where you can enjoy food and drinks inside a mountainside ski cabin nestled in a secluded forest at the rooftop.
