Found at the Vidigal Hill, Bar da Laje is not the highest rooftop bar Rio in terms of levels, but thanks to the elevated position, it still offers one of the most amazing views over the city landscape, the Ipanema Beach and the ocean.

While Vidigal once was known as a pretty rough favela, it has in recent years turned into one of Rio’s most upcoming areas, with a growing street art scene, top notch restaurants and a bustling nightlife. And Bar da Laje is a great venue to enjoy it all, plus get a taste of the 'real' Rio.

Open daily, the rooftop bar and restaurant serves a wide range of tasty Brazilian dishes, along with everything from refreshing Caipirinhas to ice-cold local and international beers.

You can visit Bar da Laje for a relaxing and sunny lunch enjoying the views, but the rooftop is even more famous for its vibrant party nights (and sometimes party days). Live music, DJs, samba and a large crowd keeps the atmosphere sky-high.

To get to Bar da Laje you can either take the walk up the hillside or take a taxi, but the bar also offers shuttle service from the beachfront of Leblon.
