Located in a beautiful building, right in the heart of Stone Town, the superb hotel Emerson on Hurumzi comes packed with history from top to toe.
Found at the very top, the initmate and charming Rooftop Tea House Restaurant comes equipped with seating on cushions by a low table or on regular height seats, all surrounded with breathtaking 360° views of Stone Town and the Indian Ocean.
Open for both lunch and dinner, the very best time to visit the rooftop is probably towards night. The evening dining experience includes a set 3 course of Zanzibar cuisine fused with oriental Persian and Omani influences, as well as cocktails to the sunset views and traditional Taarab performances.
As there terrace has limited seating, reservations are mandatory. Dinner start at 7pm, but make sure to be there at 6pm to enjoy the spectacular views of sea and city.
Tip: Roshani, found below the Rooftop Tea House, offers a Zanzibar Tea Ceremony well worth exploring. There is also a sister hotel close by, called Emerson Spice, offering a very similar rooftop setting.
