Many of the rooftops serve fantastic food like upscale Italian, local San Diego flavours and Mexican classics. There's such a big diffrence between all rooftops on this list, that you need to visit at least 3-4 of them. Almost all of them with beautiful ocean and sunset views!

What we think: We came here to try the sushi during sunset, that we heard was the best things to do at Cannonball. And we can agree! Whether you choose to get cozy in the intimate cocktail lounge or out on the rooftop terrace, you’ll be treated with tasty food and drinks. Also, extra plus for the vibrant atmosphere. A little minus for being very crowded, this is a popular spot.
In short: A rooftop located in the heart of Pacific Beach. Here they find inspiration and recipes rooted in Baja's traditions.
View: Buzzing streets of central Pacific Beach. Perched on the 2nd floor, the views are not spectacular from here.

What we think: When deciding to visit Pueblo, our only focus was the food and Margaritas. These are the reasons why people come here. And of course the vibrant atmosphere! If you’re looking for sweeping views, this is not the place you’re searching for.
In short: Situated on the rooftop of the Cormorant Boutique Hotel in La Jolla, CA, the Birdseye bar and lounge is one of the very few rooftop bars of its kind in the area.
View: Sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and rooftops of la Jolla.
Menu: A mix of everything. Pasta, tacos, burgers, flat breads and salads.
Why visit: For a lovely weekend brunch or a sunset dinner.

What we think: We came here for the Brunch, and it was amazing. The price is more expensive than the regular San Diego rooftop bar, but still well worth it. This contemporary rooftop bar and lounge is the ultimate place to socialize, and it has most things you need regarding food to satisfy whatever you may be craving.
In short: Catania San Diego is an ongoing love affair with Italy. Here they strive to keep it Italian for both the people, the beauty and, of course, the food.
View: Oceans views and the surrounding rooftops of La Jolla.
Menu: Italian! How about plates of handmade pasta, wood-fired pizzas, fresh seafood and decadent desserts.
Why visit: For delicious Italian food combined with ocean views.

What we think: We visited Catania both for lunch (only weekends) and dinner. The food up here is amazing! We actually came here only for the food, the sunset and ocean view is a big bonus. La Jolla is a fancy neighborhood, and so are the clientel at Catania. So, dress to impress.
In short: Welcome to Pacific Beach AleHouse, where craft brewing meets beachside vibes. Nestled on the corner of Grand and Mission Blvd, just steps from the water.
View: The Sky Deck boasts unobstructed beach views.
Menu: American-style menu featuring burgers, flatbreads, wings, and more, all made in-house with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Why visit: As the name suggests, you should visit for beers with a view. Both local brews and well know brands are available on the menu.

Dress code: The Pacific Beach Ale House is Casual.
What we think: This is one of our favorite rooftop bars in Pacific Beach. Much thanks to the lovely vibe, tasty beers and beautiful beach views. This rooftop has a vibrant sports bar atmosphere, and they brand themselves as the ultimate destination for beer enthusiasts and beach lovers alike.
In short: Duke’s La Jolla pays tribute to Hawaii and Southern California beach lifestyles. Here, they celebrate family, views and the spirit of aloha.
View: Overlooking the La Jolla Cove, you get both unique and beautiful ocean views from here.
Menu: Duke’s serves genuine, friendly hospitality with contemporary interpretations of traditional Hawaiian plates.

What we think: We visited for the Taco Tuesday which was amazing! For $14 we got two delicious tacos and then we added $10 for bottomless Margaritas. One of our favorite rooftop experiences in along time. This place is like no other, which it’s why we can recommend it to everyone.
In short: George's at the Cove is the premier Southern California dining destination located in the heart of La Jolla, California.
