Overview
Vibrant brewery complex with charming rooftop.
Starting in the basement of Barley's Taprooom and Pizzeria in 1994, Highland Brewing Company is the oldest brewery in Ashville. A lot has happended along the way, and the location is no longer in a basement, but instead at a large and vibrant complex in East Asheville.
Here you find a large indoor bar, concert venues and a rotating assamble of food trucks. But best of all, also a lovely rooftop terrace. With its own bar set in a recycled shipping container, the terrace comes with picnic-style tables and scenic views over the surrounding mountains.
Choosing type of drink from the rooftop bar is not that hard. It is of course beer, beer and beer. But which beer might be more tricky, as there is usually 15 different selections on taps, and usually also some limited editions only available at the brewery. However, it will be local, and most likely tasty.
As a family-run business, you can expect a fun and friendly atmosphere, where community seating means you will probably make som new friends along the way.
Live entertainment is not unusual at the Highland Brewing Company, and you can also complement your visit with a brewery tour. In addition, the event center and rooftop can be reserved for private events.
