Overview
A rooftop wine bar in the heart of Chinatown's art district in Honolulu.
The Tchin Tchin! Bar (or Tchin Tchin Honolulu, as many call it) is a wine bar and rooftop bar in Honolulu, Hawaii, more precisely in the Chinatown art district of downtown. A bit of a hidden gem, not super easy to find but well worth the search.
The indoor restaurant and bar is urban cool with its exposed brick wall, and opens up to the cosy outdoor terrace. Now the view is nothing to really brag about, since a wall takes away most of the panoramic feels and you mainly see the top of buildings and sky. But equipped with dining tables, lounge sofas and some greenery, it is still very nice. Especially when darkness falls and the hanging lanterns creates a lovely warm light.
Tchin Tchin actually means 'Please-Please', originating from a Chinese expression where the host invites guests to drink. And this is really what The The Tchin Tchin! Bar does, especially inviting you to drink wine. With an extensive and impressive selection of wines, served by the 2oz taste, 6oz glass or bottle, this is heaven for the wine-lovers.
In addition, the rooftop bar also serves artisan cocktails, beers and smaller plates, mainly fitted to suit with wine, like cheese plates, prosciutto, lobster and so on.
Open at night, this Hawaii rooftop bar works mainly on a walk-in policy and is a great spot to wine and dine with close ones, enjoying the company and conversations in an harmonious, open-air atmosphere. It can also be reserved for private events.
