Overview
Modern venue in historic building, offering steak, seafood & rooftop views.
Located in downtown Jacksonville, the Cowford Chophouse comes with a slogan that makes your mouth water: 'Steak, Seafood & Rooftop Views'. Yes please!
While the restaurant and rooftop bar itself is quite new, the building it occupies comes with a lot more history. Set in the 1902 vintage historic Bostwick Building, even the name 'Cowford Chophouse' is a homage to the the original name of Jacksonville.
Set over several floors, there are both stylish and cosy indoor dining rooms and a lovely open-air rooftop bar. Up on the terrace you get fantastic views over the city skyline and out over St. Johns River.
Being one of downtown Jacksonville's hottest new restaurants, you should of course visit for the food. Executive Chef Ian Lynch combines excellent steakhouse dining with seafood, topped off with a raw bar menu.
But great food is not the only thing served at Cowford Chophouse, as the rooftop bar is a perfect spot to try some of the crafted signature cocktails. There is also a very impressive wine list available.
Usually open daily from lunch on weekdays and evening on weekends, the rooftop bar also offers happy hour Mon-Fri from 4-7pm. The Cowford Chophouse rooftop dress code is casual, but if you plan to also have lunch or dinner inside, aim for more business casual clothing.
Overall, Cowford Chophouse is close to a 'must-visit' in Jacksonville, both for the food and for the drinks. And the rooftop terrace is a great spot to enjoy some of the city's fine weather.
