Overview
Glamorous rooftop terrace above the Spanish Steps, with panoramic views over Rome.
Found at the top of the Spanish Steps, the amazing Rocco Forte Hotel De La Ville does not only come with a prime location, it is also home to an amazing Rome rooftop bar.
Named Cielo Terrace, the seventh floor rooftop comes equipped with charming and elegant red and white striped umbrellas and lounge furniture, lush olive trees, as well as some spectacular views over the Eternal City skyline.
Open daily from lunch to midnight, the rooftop bar offers a light and refreshing drink-menu, with both wine based signature cocktails, as well as crafted classics. There is also a light lunch menu with small plates from the in-house Michelin star restaurant Mosaic, along with nightly selections of a mix between Asian dim sum and Italian flavours.
During the day, Cielo Terrace is a rooftop oasis away from the chaos of Via Condotti below. At night, the terrace turns more vibrant itself, with beautiful lanterns and live music from 7pm to 10pm.
Cielo is Italian for 'sky' or 'heaven', and this truly is a slice of heaven high above Rome. Glamorous and chic, the prices at the rooftop bar are quite steep (€23 for a signature cocktail), but then you get service, atmosphere and a view that is top class. Reservations before visiting are recommended.
