Overview
Relaxing and colorful rooftop terrace, set on top of legendary seafood restaurant.
Located in St Pete Beach, outside Saint Petersburg and about 30 minutes drive from downtown Tampa, the Hurricane is a legendary seafood restaurant (opened in 1977) that also holds one of Tampa Bay's best rooftop bars, at least when it comes to views.
Called Hurricane Watch Rooftop, the charming and colorful terrace is situated on the roof and 3rd floor of the building, and up here you get a spectacular 360-degree view over the Don Cesar Beach Resort, Boca Ciega Bay, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and the Gulf of Mexico. And if you pinpoint a sunset, you might be in for one of the best in all of Florida.
The Hurricane Seafood Restaurant is open daily from early lunch to late dinner, serving great food (mainly seafood, where the Grouper is supposed to be something really special). The ground floor is the 'Original Hurricane', offering more casual and family friendly dining, while the second level (with balcony terrace) is more towards fine dining.
And then the rooftop bar, that apart from magical views also offers great cocktails, tasty bites and a fun, lively and friendly atmosphere. Visit for weekday happy hour between 12pm-6pm, enjoy live entertainment and sip a Mojito or share a Hurricane Margarita Bucket to the amazing sunset. Just note that around sunset hour, you will not be the only one trying to catch the best spot.
