San Deck Bar and Restaurant (or just SanDeck Rooftop) is an all-day dining and drinking rooftop terrace, situated on the 6th floor of the fabulous five star Sandton Sun Hotel.

Located north of the city center, this large venue offers several unique outdoor spaces and a lovely view over Johannesburg’s economic and lifestyle hub skyline.

Open morning to late night, this fantastic Johannesburg rooftop bar and restaurant offers both lunch and dinner, with the cusine being a fresh take on South African flavours and served as both sliders, sharing plates and full meals.

The drink menu also takes inspiration from the local, with a wide selection of South African beer, wines and spirits, that are also mixed into signature SAN cocktails.

Modern and stylish in decoration, the San Deck rooftop bar comes with regular dining tables, front row bar stool seats, lounge sofas and very cosy bean bags right by the fireplace.

With very generous opening hours you can visit the roof terrace anytime of the day, but the recommendation would be to try and pin point some cocktails and bites around sunset, as it is truly magical from up here. Or for a more vibrant atmosphere, come between 6-10pm on Thursday to Saturday, when resident DJs usually take over on the decks and bring the otherwise sophisticated atmosphere to a bit more high levels.
